ReBox thrives through partnerships. Join us in our mission to create a Baltimore where safe, affordable housing is a reality for all.

Whether as a donor, partner, or volunteer, you can make a lasting impact by supporting community-centered housing solutions.

Our
Story

After relocating to Baltimore in 2022, Kenneth Daniel Jr., the founder of the ReBox Foundation, uncovered the tale of two cities. On one side, there’s a bustling metropolis full of promise and character, attracting talent from all over the globe. On the other, nearly 45% of residents struggle to spend over half their income on housing, leaving little left for essentials such as food, healthcare, and education.

With roots in Detroit—a city that shares a similar resilience—Ken felt strongly that Baltimore deserved a new chapter in its story, one where more pathways to prosperity are available for everyone. Motivated by the potential of both the city and its people, he established the ReBox Foundation with a mission to create sustainable, affordable housing that empowers residents and cultivates economic stability.

By repurposing shipping containers into vibrant, affordable homes, the ReBox Foundation is doing more than just constructing buildings; it’s nurturing hope. Each ReBox home offers stability and dignity, serving as a launchpad for individuals, ranging from young adults transitioning out of foster care to workers grappling with rising living costs, to truly thrive.

“Baltimore has welcomed us and encouraged us to aim high. We’re here to contribute to the solution,” Ken shares. Supported by a dedicated team and community partners, ReBox is committed to Empowering Communities, One Container At A Time.

Our
Plan

ReBox Foundation’s strategic plan is rooted in an unwavering commitment to reshaping Baltimore’s housing landscape.

Over 30% of Baltimore residents are struggling to find a place to call home that's both affordable and inspiring. With housing costs increasing by 15% and Baltimore's median rent increasing by 12% over the past five years, our shipping container homes offer a timely and innovative solution to housing affordability.

Our mission is to collaborate with all Baltimore Stakeholders to develop Studio and One-Bedroom housing units, focusing on eco-friendly, modern, and affordable single-occupant living solutions.

Our blueprint for success is based on our commitment to engaging with community stakeholders to ensure that our developments address the real needs of Baltimore residents. By forming strategic partnerships within the community, we aim to understand these needs better and create opportunities for collaborative programming. This includes initiatives in career readiness, financial literacy, and holistic health support.

Target Audiences

The ReBox Foundation is dedicated to addressing the city's over 20,000 housing units shortage by providing accessible and empowering housing solutions for individuals at different stages of life. Whether you are a young adult embarking on your journey, a working professional seeking affordability, or a college student looking for a convenient location, RBF Properties is a place to build a solid foundation.

Our properties are designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for our residents to focus on their life goals.
